Journal of Xia Jing Shan’s Art

 

It has been more than 2,000 years since Buddhism was introduced to China since Han Dynasty and religious thinking and Buddhist art has long been integrated into Chinese culture and daily life of Chinese people. In addition to religious rituals, Buddhist painting helps to purify heart and promote education and enlightenment.

This issue based on the theme of “Arts and Philosophical Meaning of Buddhist Painting” collects four papers that discuss Master Xia Jing Shan and his disciple, Chiang Hsiao-Hung’s paintings after examination procedure and decision made by the Editing Committee: “The Calling of Prototype Image: Art Creation Salvation Procedure after Life Transformation”, “Unawareness” and “Unconsciousness”- A Study on the Communication Concept of Chinese Buddha Painting Exhibitions
